Chapple Drops Bid for Decatur City Council

In a release from Macon County Clerk Josh Tanner, Anthony S. Chapple filed a withdrawal of candidacy for the Decatur City Council on Tuesday. In spite of his dropping out of the race, the February 23, 2021 Consolidated Primary will still be conducted per state statute. Chapple’s name will appear on the February 23, 2021 Consolidated Primary ballot, however his name will not be on the April 6, 2021 Consolidated ballot. A notice will be placed in polling places alerting voters to the fact that Chapple has withdrawn from the Primary.
