A man wrongfully convicted of the murder of an ISU student in 1993 is asking the Illinois Supreme Court for justice. Alan Beaman spent 13 years in prison for the death of his former girlfriend Jennifer Lockmiller. The state Supreme Court reversed the conviction in 2008 and the charges were later dropped. Beaman’s lawyers returned to the court yesterday asking for a jury trial to decide if he will receive compensation for his wrongful incarceration.
