U.S. Senators Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin are condemning President Trump and his supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol. The two Illinois Democrats took to the Senate floor last night to continue a debate over certifying the results of the November election after being delayed several hours due to yesterday’s violent protest. Duckworth said she refuses to let anyone trying to instigate chaos or incite violence deter her from carrying out her constitutional duties. Durbin said the Capitol is a sacred place that was desecrated by a mob.
