Republicans in the Illinois House fear the upcoming lame duck legislative session will include a tax increase. Representative Tom Demmer of Dixon says now is not the time to be asking Illinoisans for more money, but warns it’s a possibility since the Democratic Majority released more than a hundred bills over the weekend that could be amended. No agenda has been set for the final days of the current General Assembly, although topics that could come up include COVID Relief and police reforms.
