Durbin Calls for McConnell To Bring Forward Bipartisan Stimulus Bill

Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin is pleading with Republican Leader Mitch McConnell to bring to the floor a bipartisan stimulus bill.  Speaking on the Senate floor, Durbin said he and Senators from both sides of the aisle have worked hard to reach an agreement both sides can live with.  The Illinois Democrat said they have done so on every issue other than corporate liability protection.  Durbin said so far there’s been about 150 lawsuits filed across the nation, far too small a number to hold up much needed aid to struggling Americans.  He asked McConnell to bring the bill up even if he opens it up to amendments so struggling Americans can get the help they need.
