Danville Mayor Rickey Williams says he won’t fine businesses that continue having indoor dining. Williams says the city doesn’t have the personnel to enforce statewide guidelines requiring restaurants and bars to end indoor dining. The mayor also says he will not be exercising the option to take away liquor licenses from violators. Danville Alderman Daniel Duncheon strongly disagrees with Williams’ stance, saying indoor dining restrictions are necessary to keep COVID-19 from spreading further.
