Decatur Choral Society’s Opus 24 will not be presenting their annual fall concert this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. A decision regarding their annual spring concert in 2021 has yet to be decided.
You are invited to connect to Opus 24 on Facebook to view past concerts, with a new one uploaded every other week as part of their “Virtual Concert Series” which began earlier this summer.
Opus 24 is a premier community choir excelling in the performance of serious choral music, both sacred and secular. Choir members come from Central Illinois and represent a wide variety of experience and occupations but are united in the goal of achieving excellence in choral music performance. Opus 24 is under the direction of Milton Scott, a nationally recognized choir director who participates in professional workshops as a presenter in competitions and as an adjudicator.
Decatur Choral Society is the parent organization for Opus 24. Its mission is to provide choral music excellence to Central Illinois and to promote the development of vocal music talent. DCS provides funding to Millikin Children’s choir and grants a semester of private voice lessons with the Millikin University’s Preparatory Department to auditioned scholarship winners.
