Staff members say a COVID-19 outbreak is overrunning a state-run psychiatric facility. Workers say management hasn’t adopted the union’s workplace safety proposals at McFarland Mental Health Center. Health officials say 253 workers at the facility have tested positive for the virus. Numbers released Saturday say that ten of the facility’s 122 psychiatric patients have tested positive for COVID-19. Medical staff say there’s an area where a negative airflow unit hasn’t been properly used to house sick patients.
