Latham To Vote on Alcohol Sales in Town

Latham residents are preparing to vote on whether or not to allow alcohol sales within the town.  The owner of the town’s only restaurant says alcohol sales are essential to her getting a liquor license and adding video gambling machines to get through the pandemic.  Town leaders say it’s not clear exactly when the town became dry, but it is assumed to have happened during Prohibition.  The village board decided that they would leave the decision with the voters, rather than voting among themselves.
