The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is announcing health and safety precautions for deer hunting at state parks this year. The idea is to limit crowds and help prevent spread of the virus says IDNR spokesperson Rachel Torbert. Changes include no standby deer hunting or pre-season orientation meetings this year, and Torbert says there will be no in-person drawings for blind locations or hunting zones. Hunters are asked to check the IDNR website for all the new rules and which state parks are affected.
