Former state Senator Terry Link is admitting that he underreported his income for several years. The ex-lawmaker pleaded guilty yesterday to a federal tax charge. Link confessed to underreporting his income on his tax returns from 2012 to 2016. That resulted in losses to the IRS of at least 71-thousand-dollars and over eleven-thousand-dollars to the Illinois Department of Revenue. Link agreed to pay that money back. He resigned from the Senate last week, a seat he held for more than two decades.
