Decatur city leaders are working to address an uptick in gun violence. There were 32 shootings reported in the city during August, the most in a single month in five years. Police Chief Jim Getz says gang activity is behind the majority of the shootings. Getz is asking judges to raise bonds on gun offenders and wants help from neighborhood watches, community policing, and Crime Stoppers.
