COVID-19 outbreaks are hitting Illinois long-term care centers the hardest. Long-term care facilities account for over half of the state’s deaths. The Villas in Sherman caught public attention at the beginning of the pandemic for their extensive outbreak of the virus, but no longer has any cases. There are twelve outbreaks currently at facilities in Sangamon and Macon Counties.
