The Metro East could see harsher restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker warned yesterday that the state may re-impose stricter protections if the region doesn’t rein in its coronavirus outbreak. Change could include the full closure of bars or other public venues. Restrictions were put into place on Tuesday after the Metro East averaged a COVID-19 positivity rate of at least eight-percent for three consecutive days. As of yesterday, the area had grown to 9.5-percent.
