Governor J.B. Pritzker is launching a new mask awareness campaign to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. “It Only Works If You Wear It” is a five million dollar campaign to get people to wear a mask out in public says the Governor.
State Public Health Director Ngozi Ezike says a mask is like any other safety measure, you actually have to use it. Illinois has had a mask mandate since May, but no statewide fine structure. Officials say local law enforcement should remind those not wearing a mask of the requirement.
