Governor J. B. Pritzker says he will try to stop Federal Protective Service Agents from coming to Chicago. Reports say that President Trump may send Federal Law Enforcement to Chicago to help combat recent violence and crime. The Governor is against that move, saying it’s his job to protect the civil liberties of Illinois residents.
Governor Priztker says the state should have been consulted first, but if the agents do come, he will work to get them out to help prevent a repeat of the situation in Portland, Oregon. Pritzker says he put in a call to the Department of Homeland Security, but was told not to expect an immediate response.
