The Illinois State Police are making a dent in the state’s evidence testing backlog. State Police yesterday said teams have reduced the number of cases waiting for evidence testing by one-third. The backlog has not been erased. State Police say, as of May 31st, nearly 15-thousand cases were still waiting for some sort of testing.
