Governor Pritzker is declaring a disaster in nine Illinois counties.
The governor issued the disaster proclamations yesterday for Sangamon, Macon, Champaign, Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Madison, and Will counties. The proclamations are a reaction to violence and damage in those counties and will speed up the use of state resources, personnel, and equipment to help municipalities keep people safe during protests as riots and looting take place statewide.
