An emergency rule dealing with Illinois workers’ compensation is being repealed.
The emergency rule created an automatic presumption that any essential worker diagnosed with COVID-19 contracted the illness at the workplace. The Illinois Manufacturers Association and the Illinois Retail Merchants Association filed a lawsuit to block the rule. The Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission withdrew the rule yesterday.
