Governor J.B. Pritzker has commuted the sentences for some Illinois inmates during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The latest round of commutations includes two men who were serving life sentence for armed robberies. The group also included a man serving natural life and a man who has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years. The Illinois Prisoner Review Board is not saying whether the releases were related to COVID-19.
