The Decatur Public Transit System will start to require its riders to wear face masks on buses.
Scot Wrighton the Decatur city manager said signs recommending masks will be up Wednesday. The masks however will be required later in the month.
There will be a transition period in which we work towards making the masks mandatory for transit, Wrighton said in a video update. This is not only for the riders safety but for the drivers safety as well.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker has already recommended that people in public should wear face masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
