Due to developments over the past week and after updates from state, local and national government, the 2020 Decatur Celebration has been canceled. Officials believe that this is the right thing to do for the health of the community.
The situation has been under observation for a number of weeks, and the decision was as informed as possible. Those in charge spoke with advisors and sponsors and went over possible secondary options but after much discussion, it was agreed upon that this was the best option for the community.
The Decatur Celebration Board of Directors will now begin planning the Decatur Celebration for 2021, which at this time is being planned for August 6-8, 2021.
