Springfield believes they are financially ready for COVID-19 fallout thanks to “rainy day” fund started in 2011

Officials with the City of Springfield say they’re financially ready for the expected fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.  The city Budget Director said the city has built up a rainy day fund starting in 2011 in case another recession happened.

He says the timing of the crisis will also give officials time to adjust the budget and spending.
