More Illinois National Guard troops are being activated to help support the state’s COVID-19 response. Governor J.B. Pritzker called up 115 members yesterday. Around 80 will help with communications and reporting between health departments and the State Emergency Operations Center. Most of the remainder will be deployed to establish a medical facility at McCormick Place.
A total of about 380 Illinois Guard troops are directly supporting the COVID-19 response.
