Monday March 24 at 11:47 pm a 21-year-old Decatur woman was having a street fight with another woman.
Police were called to east Decatur and South 17th streets. The Decatur woman was holding the other woman’s hair and was refusing to let go according to police.
Officer Donald Larson said he found the women fighting in a parked car, while other women were screaming at the attacker. He made it clear to her that he was Decatur police and told her to let go of the woman’s hair and after several warnings he sprayed her with one puff of pepper spray.
Later the woman was booked on a preliminary charge of resisting a peace officer. Preliminary charges are subject to review by the state attorney’s office. The attacker is currently free on bail of $1,000 after posting $100 to bond out.
