On Thursday the Decatur City Offices will be closed to the public in an attempt to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
City employees will still be working in the offices unless authorized to work from home. This practice is in accordance with recommendations of the White House and Governor’s Office. Citizens will still be able contact city staff by phone or email during business hours to conduct city business.
Along with this development the city of Decatur will suspend all water service disconnections for non-payment through April 15th, 2020. This is to help limit the spread of the virus or chance of exposure, and to help those affected by all the recent closures.
The city urges citizens to pay their City of Decatur Municipal Utilities bills by any of the following methods:
- Paying by phone (800-700-9309)
- Paying online (www.decaturil.gov)
- Using the outside drop box (located on the east side of the Civic Center)
- Authorized payment locations
