A vote to test the waters on a new mascot at the University of Illinois will be held this week.
The proposed mascot, a blue and orange belted kingfisher, passed the student government vote unanimously in February.
All students will be allowed to vote. The voting will begin on Wednesday and wrap up on Thursday. The results will be tallied by March 11th. This vote is a nonbinding referendum and is just to test student interest levels.
