The Riverton officer who allegedly head-butted a man has resigned. Officer Grant Peterson allegedly grabbed Jacob Melton by the neck and proceeded to head-butt him on February 5th. Peterson has been indicted on charges of aggravated battery and official misconduct. The case was investigated by the Sangamon County Sheriff’s office.
