The Northeast Community Fund has been serving Decatur, IL and Macon Co. since 1969. What began as a small food bank within a church has grown to an organization that serves over 11,000 families a year. Their clients are primarily low-income families, also including seniors, veterans and the homeless. They serve an average of 115 food boxes a day for 4 days a week. They also have a free clothing room and serve 20 families once a week with furniture referrals and smaller household items.
This campaign allows you to see how a donation can directly impact a member of our community. Here are some ways your dollars can help:
$10 prepares a 35lb food box for a family or purchases a bus pass
$15 helps pay for a state ID or birth certificate
$25 supports a typical water bill pledge or a prescription voucher
$50 supports a typical power bill pledge or puts emergency gas in the car
$100 helps with car repair or a night in a hotel for emergency lodging
$250 supports 10 homeless backpacks or a tuition payment
