A 19-year-old from Decatur was arrested after a woman called police about a man attempting to get into her parked vehicle.
Just before midnight on Tuesday, the woman heard her car door open while she was inside her residence on South Wise Street. Nearby officers were notified and given a description of the suspect, who was later seen on South Oakland Avenue.
The suspect ran when an officer approached him. The officer then used their taser to bring the chase to an end. The man had a pistol in his pocket and was then arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon.
He is also charged with resisting/obstructing an officer and criminal trespass to a vehicle.
