Yesterday the Macon County Board took a vote deciding if unincorporated ares of Macon County will allow the sale of recreational marijuana.
They voted against the sale by a vote of 11-9. The ban will be in effect for a year.
It was considered unlikely for the board to opt in after Decatur, Long Creek and Forsyth all opted out. Harristown, the lone area to opt in, voted to do so back in October.
