After an autopsy showed that a 4-month-old from Lerna was beaten to death, his father was charged with first-degree murder on Tuesday.
21-year-old Isaac Currey could face life in prison after his son was found unresponsive on Monday. Currey claimed he dropped the child while removing him from the bathtub but the autopsy indicated he was struck by a fist or an object. The child’s brain was bleeding and had multiple skull fractures.
The charges against Currey accuse him of exceptionally brutal or heinous behavior and, if proven, could result in life in prison.
