A 24-year-old from Decatur has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after leading police on a high-speed chase and disposing of a handgun during the chase.
Devante Hall was convicted of aggravated fleeing an officer and armed violence. His charges will run concurrently.
Hall was arrested back on May 6th of this year. Police received a tip that Hall was armed, and upon attempting to stop him, he fled.
Police ended the car chase with spike strips, but Hall then fled on foot and was arrested soon after. Police found one 9mm pistol in his vehicle and another when they checked the path of the chase.
