A Bloomington woman was found guilty of first-degree murder for the death of her 8-year-old stepchild. Cynthia Baker kicked the child in the stomach hard enough for her to succumb to her injuries.
Baker’s daughter testified seeing her mother kick the child twice in the weeks leading up to the child’s death.
Baker’s sentencing is scheduled for February 3rd. She is eligible for life imprisonment due to the jury finding the murder to be heinous and with wanton cruelty.
