A Decatur man is facing domestic and aggravated battery charges after stabbing his mother in the head with a kitchen knife.
Jonathan Wilder was standing above his mother holding a large knife when she woke up after feeling a blow to her head. She then rushed out of her apartment and went to find help. When officers saw her, they noticed an open wound still bleeding on the left side of her head.
St. Mary’s staff suggested staples to close the wound, but the woman denied treatment.
A search of the apartment yielded the knife in question. Wilder was then arrested.
