An 82-year-old store owner in Decatur was shot a number of times with a BB gun in an attempted robbery on Friday. The suspect went into a furniture store in the 1800 block of South Taylorville Road and aimed the BB gun at the owner and began demanding money from the register.
The owner fought off the suspect but received 12 puncture wounds during the struggle. The suspect reportedly fled with nothing from the store.
