The Central Illinois Democratic Socialists of America are pushing for a measure for residents of Decatur to vote if recreational marijuana dispensaries should be allowed in Decatur. They brought a petition with 1,200 signatures to the council. Council members countered by voicing their concerns of youth development and public safety.
