A Decatur man who ran when he saw a police car approaching was then tased by an officer and taken into custody. When the man fell to the ground, officers on the scene heard the sound of metal hitting the ground. The man had a loaded Baretta with a partially full magazine and a bullet in the chamber. One officer noticed the man grab at his waste band while he was running.
The man has been charged with possession of a weapon by a felon, resisting and obstructing a peace officer and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. His bail was set at $20,000.
