On Wednesday, President Trump approved Illinois’ to be designated as a disaster area. Much of Illinois was pelted with sever weather that caused major flooding – mostly in Southern Illinois and near the Mississippi River.
Areas affected by the flooding will be able to use federal assistance on February 24, 2020 to July 3rd of the same year. Federal funding will be doled out to local governments deemed eligible, and also to the state itself.
There are 17 counties that are eligible for relief funding.
