Macon County State’s Attorney Jay Scott says charges have been dropped against the man accused of the murder of Cody Drew. Ray M. James was dismissed of all charges today.
Cody was killed back on August 9th, 2018. The 24-year-old was found with five stab wounds at the intersection of Oakland Avenue and Main Street. He was then rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Drew was playing a gambling machine at the Winery with a friend when two men entered. One man told Drew to bet more money to win more money and Drew eventually won $150. The man then felt he deserved part of Drew’s winnings, to which he refused.
The case is still ongoing.
