Police claim a 26-year-old man, who was intoxicated while driving a stolen pickup, struck an off-duty officer’s vehicle. Macon County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a hit and run and were met by a fellow deputy who stated his vehicle was hit by a red Ford Ranger with noticeable front end damage.
Deputies discovered the truck from the description South of W. Grand Avenue. When deputies approached the man, he claimed he did nothing wrong and said the damage was from a deer. While performing a field sobriety test, the man admitted to hitting two vehicles. The stolen truck was discovered to be from Clinton. The suspect faces charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle as well as aggravated DUI.
