A bill aimed at raising the minimum Illinois teacher salary is making it’s way to the governor’s desk. A measure passed the state Senate yesterday that would slowly phase in the increase over a five-year period. By 2023-24, the minimum salary would be $40,000. A similar bill was vetoed last year by then-Governor Bruce Rauner.
