Illinois police will step up seat belt enforcement through Memorial Day. State police and over 200 local law enforcement agencies will be involved. The “Border to Border” campaign will yield an increase in enforcement of mandatory seat belt use with more patrols and zones of enforcement through Memorial Day on Monday, May 27th.
Illinois traffic fatalities have reportedly decreased, but Transportation Secretary Omer Osman said that the use of seat belts and their laws are your best line of defense in an accident.
