Beer and liquor to be taxed to help repair state infrastructure

A tax increase on beer and liquor is being proposed as a way to raise money to fix the state’s infrastructure.  Governor J.B. Pritzker estimates the hikes would bring in 120 million dollars in additional money annually and would put about 540 thousand residents back to work.  Some bar owners say they would have to pass the costs on to consumers, which could hurt business.
