Usually by now Illinois corn farmers have about 40-percent of their crop in the ground. The latest Illinois crop report says farmers have just nine-percent of their corn planted this spring. It’s still far too wet or cool for most farmers in the state. There are some spots in central and west-central Illinois that are drier, but that’s offset by southern Illinois where the ground is far too wet.
