R and B singer R. Kelly is back to making public appearances and made a surprise visit to Springfield. He announced on Instagram Saturday evening that he would be appearing at Dirty South Lounge later that night. The singer arrived in the early hours of Sunday morning, spending about half an hour taking selfies, chatting, dancing, and smoking cigars with fans. R. Kelly got on the microphone and thanked supporters before singing a line from one of his songs for 28 seconds. A 100-dollar cover charge was reduced to 50-dollars once R. Kelly arrived. Crowd reaction was mixed on his brief performance.
