House Speaker Doesn’t Think He’s Under Federal Investigation

The most powerful Democrat at the Illinois Capitol doesn’t think he’s under federal investigation.  House Speaker Mike Madigan yesterday told reporters that he does not believe that he is part of a federal probe in Chicago, despite being caught on tape from a wire worn by a Chicago alderman who was working with federal prosecutors.  Madigan said he has not been contacted by the U.S. Attorney’s office in relation to the case, and that to his knowledge, he is not under investigation.
