Whether it’s luck or skill, Illinois deer hunters had a better year in the field last year. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources yesterday released the final numbers for all firearm and archery deer seasons. DNR says hunters bagged 151-thousand-577 deer in the 2018-2019 season. That’s better than the 147-thousand-695 deer that they got during the previous season.
