(Peoria, IL) — A central Illinois hospital is apologizing after a hack may have exposed information about nearly a million-and-a-half patients. UnityPoint Health in Peoria Monday said someone hacked their system using an email phishing scam back in March. UnityPoint said in a statement that they didn’t discover the hack until the end of May. The hospital’s statement says hackers were able to get access to protected health information and other personal information.
