The Good Samaritan Inn is inviting the Decatur community to see what’s growing at Mercy Gardens during a Fall Festival next week.
The event is Thursday, September 10th, from four to six p-m at Mercy Gardens, located at 1212 North Edward Street in Decatur.
The festival will give visitors a chance to tour the growing space, see a new mural on the property and learn how Good Samaritan Inn is using the garden to grow fresh produce and help address food insecurity in the community.
The property was donated by the City of Decatur, allowing Good Samaritan Inn to expand Mercy Gardens and develop it as a long-term community resource.
The Fall Festival will also feature free food for children and family-friendly fall activities.
Pumpkins and mums grown at Mercy Gardens will be available for purchase, with small mums selling for 12 dollars and large mums for 25 dollars.
The Fall Festival is sponsored by Mueller Co. and is open to the community.
